Otis Baker Jr. was born on December 15, 1944, to Otis Baker Sr. and Rosie Lee Vaughn of
Redwater, Texas. He was the oldest of 11 children - two brothers and eight sisters. At an early age, he developed a strong work ethic and desire to take care of his family.
On November 29, 1967, Otis joined in holy matrimony with Barbara Ann Fagan. They were blissfully married for forty-nine and a half years, until she was called home on May 27, 2017. Otis and Barbara had six children. He was a dependable, faithful family man
and dedicated husband who wholeheartedly loved his family.
Otis was a member of Hopewell Temple C.M.E. Church, Texarkana, Texas where he served as a Steward for over 15 years. He was a devoted servant and dedicated his time and talents in several capacities as a leader in the Finance and Hospitality ministries. He also was a dedicated member of the Masonic Fraternal Order where he held high office positions.
