Richard Conkleton, 83, of New Boston, Texas, died Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Christus Saint Michael Hospital.
Mr. Conkleton was born in New Boston, Texas, on August 22, 1939. He was a Machine Operator for International Paper and Bowie County. He was an active member of Arkadelphia Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, a member of the Cemetery Club, and sang in the Men's Choir.
Survivors include six sons, Marlon Conkleton of Texarkana, Texas, Richard Conkleton, Dennis Conkleton, Patrick Conkleton, Rodney Conkleton, Stan Conkleton, all of New Boston, Texas; two daughters, Gloria Gilbert of New Boston, Texas, and LaTonya Whitaker of Tyler, Texas; two sisters Lillie Henderson and Hazel Conkleton both of New Boston, Texas: 14 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, family and friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Arkadelphia Baptist Church, with Pastor Michael Henry officiating. Burial will be in the Arkadelphia Cemetery under the direction of Haynes Mortuary.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Haynes Mortuary, Inc. 7238 W. 7th Street Texarkana, Texas 75501.
