Obituary

Rosalind Mechay Witcher, affectionately known as "RaRa" was born on March 15, 1964, to her late and loving parents, Archie Lee and Sarah Ann Witcher of Texarkana, Texas. Rosalind grew up with her siblings Cedric Witcher, Curtis Thomas, Darrell Witcher, and Adrian Witcher in a loving and supporting family. She accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Texarkana College alongside one of her lifelong friends, Regina Williams. Her passion for cooking is what led her to obtain a degree in Culinary Arts. She loved to decorate her home, making it warm and cozy like her heart.

As we all know, RaRa was such a vibe! She would light up any room she was in and slap some cards down on anybody's table and talk plenty of mess...especially if she was playing spades. If her opponent and their partner didn't get the number of books they bid, she would say, "set 'em and call 'em too short!" Laughter and love was her purpose in life. She did a good job of doing so. She enjoyed fellowshipping with family and friends, loving them, and taking care of her adult children as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She became friends with people from all walks of life. RaRa loved children and would treat them like one of her own.

Rosalind departed this earthly life on January 30, 2025. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by: two brothers, Cedric Witcher and Curtis Thomas; grandparents, Fairdell Witcher and Pervie Witcher; aunts, Teressa (Lee) Holden, Cedell Jackson, Zedia Lana, Ethel Barnes, Amerlean Wishum, Evelyn Wishum, Betty Hunter, Wanda Block, and Dessie Lee Benton; and uncles, Olford Wright Jr. and Arthur B. Witcher.

She leaves to cherish her memories: six sons, Darius Witcher, Keldrick Witcher, Clarence Witcher, Cornell Witcher, Antodd Witcher, and Demontrous (O'Keith) Witcher of Texarkana, TX; one daughter, Shankita Witcher of Texarkana, TX; special cousin, Sandra Wright; and lifelong friends, Joanna White, Regina Williams, Melvin Winslow, Maria Hubbard, Kita Mack. and Shelia Durham. Her family continued to grow with 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
