Obituary

Our beloved Rosalyn Rivers, age 62, completed her earthly journey on July 5th, 2025, in Texarkana, Texas. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience-a life that touched many and hearts she lifted with her gentle, radiant smile. Her smile was a light in this world: warm, contagious, and full of love.

Rosalyn was born on May 9th, 1963, to Mattie Whitfield Rivers and Carl Rivers She was one of nine children and grew up surrounded by strong family bonds and deep-rooted values that she carried with her throughout her life.
Rosalyn was known for her love for her family and her friends.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Leonard Whitfield, Annie Whitfield, Richard Rivers, and Carl "Mickey" Rivers. She is lovingly remembered by her surviving siblings: Lindie Lafayette, Henry Whitfield (Donna), Diana Fisher (Mark), and Joe "Buddy" Rivers.

Rosalyn's greatest joy was her family. No matter the distance, she made it a priority to check in, bridging the miles, near or far, with love and intention, and keeping family bonds strong.

She is survived by her devoted children: her daughter Althea Rivers of Texarkana, Texas; and her sons Brandon Rivers of Columbus, Ohio, Keena Rivers, and Dekeena Rivers, Sr.(Kristal), both of Texarkana, Texas.

Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren that she loved so very much:
