Obituary

Rose was born in Texarkana, Arkansas on January 15, 1960 to Louis Simon and Vernice Snowden-Simon. She entered into eternal rest August 6, 2020.

Rose confessed her faith in Christ at a young age and stood firm on His Word as she fought the good fight and finished the race. Rose was a devoted member of the Sunset Missionary Baptist Church until her health failed.

Rose was a caring, thoughtful and phenomenal woman. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, cooking, bingo, playing cards and dominoes.  She treasured spending time with her family and friends.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Johnny Lee Simon and sister, Shelia Kaye Simon-Leakes.

Rose life, memories and legacy will forever be cherished by her two children, James L. Elkins of Jennings, MO. and Jasmine V. Elkins of Florissant, MO. one brother, Roger L. Simon, Sr. of Texarkana, TX. two sisters, Brenda J. Simon-Jenkins of Florissant, MO. and Linda Simon-Greene of Jennings, MO. a special niece, Makaylin J. Williams of Jennings, MO. a special friend James Elkins of Texarkana, TX. and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, August 14, 2020 from 2:30pm – 4:30pm at Haynes Mortuary 7238 W 7 th Street Texarkana, Tx.

Graveside Service will be Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 10:00am Queen City Cemetery Queen City, Tx. with Brother Lamar Snowden officiating.
