Roy Moore was born in Texarkana, TX on May 15, 1952. He was the son of Versie Lee (Jackson) and Willie Moore. He was a graduate of Texas High School and Texarkana Community College.
Roy was employed as a Tax Appraiser Supervisor at the Bowie County Appraisal Office, where he worked for 36 years, retiring in 2015. He was active in the community, was part of a local
bowling league and served as a member of the Liberty Eylau Band Booster Club.
Roy loved speding time with his family and friends. His favorite passtime was fishing and
hunting. One thing that could said about Roy is that he lived life to the fullest. He was
kind and giving and you could always count on him if you needed help. He had a great sense
of humor and was always making people laugh.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, sister Margaret Young, and brother Willie Moore, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son Roy Damien Moore, his brother Eddie Howard
Moore, sister Jean Evelyn Lockett (Jerrell), and sister Beverly Harrison, as well as many
nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Roy was a wonderful son, father, brother, uncle and friend to many. He will be missed by all.
We know is gone fishing with his mother and father and they are watching over us now.
