Rubie Lee Stewart was born August 29, 1932 in Texarkana, Texas to the late Jessie and Fannie Jones. She was educated in Sentinel, Oklahoma.

Rubie was united in holy matrimony to Charles David Ross, who preceded her in death. Their union was blessed with three children, Violet Jean Allen and Leroy Ross, who also preceded her in death, and Fannie Randle.

Upon returning to Texarkana, Rubie was employed with Texarkana ISD Administration until retirement, after which, she worked as a caregiver. She later married the late Carl Stewart.

Rubie united with the Oak Street Baptist Church on July 15, 2012. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School, working with the Deaconesses and being an usher. In her leisure, she enjoyed working crossword puzzles and baking her well loved carrot cakes and sweet potato pies. But her greatest enjoyment was reading the bible.

Mrs. Rubie Lee Stewart transitioned from labor to reward on Sunday, May 10, 2020. She leaves to cherish loving memories: daughter, Fannie Randle, Inglewood, CA; sisters, Jessie Talley, Ft. Worth, TX and Martha Jo Jones, Hobart, OK; son-in-law, Benjamin Allen, Jr., Carrollton, TX; grandchildren, Angela McCoy (Anthony), Carrollton, TX, Ceene' Randle, Inglewood, CA and Marsha Randle, Long Beach, CA; great-grandchildren, Ashley McCoy and Torrevios S. Hicks, Carrollton, TX, Christopher McCoy, Farmers Branch, TX, Alyssa McCoy, Hurst, TX, Jasmine Tamez and Jada Tamez of Inglewood, CA; two great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
Viewing for Mrs. Stewart will be 2:30 – 4:30 PM Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Haynes Mortuary Inc. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday, May 15, 2020 at Haynes Mortuary Inc. with burial following at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.
