Sheila Irma Griffith of New Boston, Texas; born July 11, 1935 in Georgetown, Guyana South America. She gained her wings on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at a local Nursing home in Texarkana, Texas. She was 87 years old.

On June 6, 1954 she married the love of her life Edward Humphrey Joseph Griffith (now deceased). From this union seven children were born: Richard Griffith (Arlene) of Decatur, Georgia, Marilyn Griffith of New Boston, Texas, Pauline Graham (Victor) of New Boston, Texas, June Applewhaite of Texarkana, Texas, Arlene Griffith of New Boston, Texas, Edward Griffith, Jr. (deceased) and Ornette Griffith of Decatur, Georgia and special daughter Marva St. Hill of Washington, D.C.

Sheila migrated to the United States in 1983 where she lived and worked in Long Island, New York for many years. In 1998 she moved to Texas to join the family where she worked at Walmart in Texarkana and New Boston until she retired in 2010.

Sheila attended Prosperity Baptist Church in New Boston, Texas where she enjoyed going to Sunday school and church service regularly.

Sheila was preceded in death by her mother Edna Robertson, her husband Edward Griffith, her son Edward Griffith, Jr., great-granddaughter Teriqa Allen Barker and great-grandson Brycen Yates.

Sheila leaves her memories that will be cherished for life: her children, eleven grandchildren: Michelle Barker of Crowley, TX, Elton Barker and Jason Barker of Texarkana, AR., Deon (Amanda) Griffith of Georgia, Guion Barker of New Boston, TX., Darron (Simone) Griffith of Georgia, Ashley Applewhaite of McKinney, TX., Marlene King of Texarkana, AR., Renee Griffith of Texarkana, TX., Denesha Griffith and Chanice Griffith both of Georgia.; Special granddaughter Kathy (Tyrone) Simpkins of Washington, DC and special grandson Joel (LaNika) Graham of Beaumont, TX; twenty-seven great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends and some special friends - Mrs. Catherine Lyles, Mr. Ardis Cotton, Jr., Mr. John, Ms. Kay and Kacey Barrett of New Boston, Texas

Visitation will be Friday, August 5th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Funeral service under the direction of Haynes Mortuary will be Saturday, August 6th at Prosperity Baptist Church in New Boston at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.
