Sherry Haynes, 40 of Texarkana, Texas died on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Sherry was born September 8, 1985 in Texarkana, Texas to Kenneth Haynes and the late Rochelle Ross. At an early age, she accepted Christ and began her walk of faith. She was first a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and later united with Eagle Wings Outreach Ministries, where she remained a faithful member until her health began to fail.

Sherry was a graduate of Liberty-Eylau High School, class of 2004. During her high school years, she was an all-around athlete, participating in basketball, track and her favorite sport - softball.

Sherry will always be remembered for her gentle spirit, patience, kindness and unwavering love for others. She always had a bright smile and a kind word for everyone she encountered. Her heart for children was evident; children naturally gravitated to her, and she lovingly cared for every child God placed in her path. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend.

She was preceded in death by her mother - Rochelle Ross, her sister - Darnisha White and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Sherry leaves to cherish her precious memories her parents, Kenneth and Anna Haynes of Texarkana, AR; her beloved daughter - Sa'Myah Smith; and her treasured sons, Ke'Drid Smith, Jhordan Haynes, and Ken'lyn Haynes of Texarkana, TX; her brother - Michael Adkins (Serena) of Seattle, WA; her stepsisters - Quatesha Gipson of Atlanta, GA and Jasmine Gipson of Dallas, TX; her stepbrothers - Bryant Gipson (LaAundraneisha) of Bryant, TX and Kourtlan Gipson (Ajeniqua) of Nash, TX.

She is also survived by several loving aunts, uncles, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.

Funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, January 10th at 11:00 A.M. at the Unity Baptist Church - 603 Waterall Street

Visitation will be at the Haynes Mortuary - 7238 W 7th Street Friday from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M.
