He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife Zipporah and one sister.

He was baptized into the Church of Christ on December 1974 by Thomas and Carol Riley at the South East Church of Christ in South East Washington, D.C. The minister was Floyd Williamson.

He went to the Sunset Church of Christ School of Preaching in Lubbock, TX where he graduated with a degree in ministry in 1978. He has a Doctorate in Family and Clinical Counseling.

He ministered at several churches in Mississippi before coming to minister at Atlanta Street Church of Christ. He became a minister at Atlanta Street Church of Christ in 1999, where he was the minister until his death.

He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Kaye Williams; son, Ian Williams; stepson, T.Q. Lowe; and a daughter, Nikia Williams; three stepbrothers, Phillip, Charles and Chris; two step-sisters, Keisha and Alicia; his favorite grandchild, Braylyn; other grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. His siblings live in Virginia.
