Superintendent Veotis Robinson, Sr. was born September 2, 1928 to the late Carter and Josie Robinson of Ogden, Arkansas. He professed a hope in Christ at an early age at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Ogden, Arkansas. He attended Ashdown Training School. In 1960, he was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost in a Sunday School Setting under the leadership of the late Bishop Roy E. Matheny, Sr. In 1962, he accepted his call to the ministry and began preaching the Gospel which became his life's passion. He was ordained in 1967 by the late Bishop John L. Lewis. Superintendent Veotis Robinson served as pastor of Foreman (Freedom Temple) Church of God In Christ from 1964-1969. In late 1969 he then was assigned to Mineral Springs (Northside)Church of God In Christ where he remained faithful for 47 years. In 1971 he was sent by Bishop R. B. Hatley to pastor at the Lewis Temple Church Of God In Christ where he also pastored for 46 years. He was appointed to the office of District Superintendent of the Texarkana District in 1976 by Bishop Donnie L. Lindsey, Sr. who also appointed him as administrative assistant.
Superintendent Robinson was preceded in death by one son: Thurman C. Robinson.
Superintendent Robinson is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mrs. Georgia Robinson of Ogden, AR; 12 Children and their spouses: Linda J. Hobbs of Ogden, AR; Veotis Robinson, Jr. of Ashdown, AR; Barry R. Robinson of Baton Rouge, LA; Jackie R. and Bobbie Robinson of Texarkana, TX; Annette Chavers of Ashdown, AR; Colleen D. Robinson of Dallas, TX; Felecia and Reggie Thomas of Texarkana, AR; Rufus and Dewanda Robinson of Ogden, AR; Donna and Jimmy Brewer of Jacksonville, AR; J. LeKaty and Melton Hatley of Douglassville, TX; Warren and Valarie Roinson of Little Rock, AR and Holly and Gerrod Stephens of Duncanville, TX; 1 sister: Mrs. Easter Wynn of Sacramento, CA; 50 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.
