Mr. Virgil Lee Young was the fifth of seven children born in Texarkana to the late AC Young and Martha B. Washington Young. He was introduced to Christ at a very young age, where he joined New Town Missionary Baptist Church. Virgil graduated from Dunbar High School and then enlisted in the Navy. After his career with the Navy, Virgil relocated to New York City, attended college, and earned several degrees. He is retired from the New York Metropolitan Hospitals. He enjoyed his daily walks in the parks of New York City and shopping at his favorite flea markets. Virgil is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, and brothers. He leaves to cherish two favorite nieces, Martha and Janice, and a host of other nieces and nephews, including his special friend Emerson Gaylor.
