Virginia "Rose" Chambers Jamison was born September 25, 1952 to Arthur Lee Chambers and Velma Lee Williamson Chambers, who both preceded her in death.


Virginia confessed her faith and love for the Lord at an early age and was a faithful, lifelong member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where she joined under the leadership of the late Rev. B.C. Green. She served in many areas of the Church as a member of the Choir, Hospitality, Sunday School, Women's Ministry, Decoration Committee, Benevolent/Bereaved Committee, Nursing Home Committee, Back-to-School Youth Committee, and Vacation Bible School. Her personal ministry included sending cards and letters to the Sick and Shut-In, Birthday Wishes, Art Ministry, and supporting any Auxiliary in need. She truly loved her Church Family.


Virginia graduated from Liberty-Eylau High School in 1971 and remained a loyal supporter throughout the years. She was employed with the Liberty-Eylau and Texarkana Texas Independent School Districts over 27 years, later serving at the Dunbar Elementary Campus as a Librarian and Aide until her health began to fail. She loved the Staff and Students and they truly loved her! She will be greatly missed.


She was a true Dallas Cowboys fan and could be found at any time proudly wearing their paraphernalia to represent the team. Virginia's favorite saying was, "If I can help somebody as I travel along the way, then my living shall not be in vain."


Virginia married Elmer Jamison, Sr. on July 27, 1972 and to this union two children were born: Elmer Lee Jamison, Jr. and LaToya Shamese Jamison.

Aunts: Essie Morrison and Bobbie McFadyen
Goddaughter: Cymone Thomas
Godbrother: Thomas C. Lawrence
Godsisters: Shirley Davis-Reuben, Marie Haywood, and Debra Armstrong
Best Friends Forever: Gwen Houston, Sharon Stewart, and Charlene Collins


Virginia truly loved her Family and Friends, especially her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, along with a number of other Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.


One of her Favorite Scriptures was:


I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing. II Timothy 4:7-8 (KJV)
