Obituary

William Earnest "Cowboy" Garland, 76, passed on February 24, 2021 in Texarkana, TX. He was born February 18, 1945 in DeKalb, TX to James Howard Garland and Norma Wherry.

William accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Hegler Chapel CME Church in DeKalb. He graduated Marvin Pynes High School in 1963 and also attended Texas Southern University. He later joined the United States Army where she served three years and received numerous  medals.

Williams was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Tracie Starks Leake and Brenda Hooks Levells.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved daughter, Tisha P. Williams of DeKalb, TX; sister, Arma Drue (James) Runnels of Texarkana, TX; brothers, Dennis Hooks of Dallas, TX and Phillip Hooks of Texarkana, TX; grandchildren, Darius Clay (Brianna) Williams of Del City, OK and Mikrishna (Krissy) Williams of Houston, TX; special friend, Dorothy Mitchell; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
