Mr. Willie Lee Anderson Sr., affectionately known as "Booger" to family and friends, was born in Ashdown, Arkansas on September 24, 1959, to the late Mr. Samuel and Mrs. Pearline Hunter Anderson.
Willie was introduced to Christ at a very early age and was a member of Haney Creek Baptist Church. He attended Ashdown High School, where he played football for the Ashdown Panthers and was named All-District. He graduated from Ashdown High School in 1978 and joined the United States Army immediately after. During his time in the military, he served in Desert Storm. It was at this time that Willie had his children, Willie Jr. and Whitney, and met his wife, Lisa. He retired from the army in 1998 as a Sergeant First Class. After retirement, Willie worked as a Deputy Sheriff for the Davidson County Sheriff's Office in Nashville, TN. He retired from his role as Sheriff's Deputy after 19 years.
Willie had a zest for life. He enjoyed traveling, watching wrestling, riding his motorcycle, cheering for the Tennessee Titans, barbecuing, and most of all, spending time with his family.
Willie Anderson Sr. was called home on Friday, October 11, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Pearline Anderson.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 31 years, Lisa Anderson of Forney, TX; son, Willie (Jennifer) Anderson Jr. of Nashville, TN; his daughter, Whitney (Andre) Fletcher of Winchester, VA; mother-in-law, Janet Hobbs of Frostproof, FL; two brothers, Leroy (Lisa) Anderson of La Porte, TX and Samuel Ray Anderson of Nashville, AR; three sisters, Lena Pearl (Marcus) White of Washington, AR, Pamela Scott and Laura Crumb of Texarkana, TX; four brothers-in-law, Anthony (Delphine) Hobbs of Pembrook Pines, FL, Keith (Venita) Parker of Washington, D.C., Phillip Hobbs of Visalia, CA, and Alex Hobbs of Winter Haven, FL; three grandsons, Kai Anderson, Bryson Carpenter, and Dominic Fletcher; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Willie touched the lives of so many people, other than just his family. His legacy and teachings will always be remembered as he remains in our hearts forever.
